This policy explains what personal information The Business Exchange (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
The Business Exchange (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for the information described here. We operate serviced workspaces in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Sandton and Durban.
We collect only what we need in order to answer you and to run the website.
We do not collect special personal information as POPIA defines it, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Where we rely on your consent — for marketing email, or for cookies that are not strictly necessary — you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing it does not affect anything done while it was in place.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
Our website and email are run by third-party providers whose servers may sit outside South Africa. Where personal information crosses a border we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that it is protected to a standard comparable to POPIA, as section 72 of the Act requires.
Enquiries are kept for as long as we are in contact with you about them, and for a reasonable period afterwards. Information connected to a contract is kept for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. Once information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, it is deleted or de-identified.
The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to enquiry data is limited to the people who need it, and our providers are chosen on the basis that they maintain appropriate safeguards. No system is perfectly secure and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your information we will notify you and the Information Regulator, as POPIA requires.
Under POPIA you may:
Write to rent@tbeafrica.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
This site links out to others — map providers and virtual tours among them. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, and we would encourage you to read their own policies.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top says when it last changed, and the version on this page is always the current one.
